About Viking Trade

Our journey started in 2023 when two friends decided there had to be a better solution to deliver goods from Indonesia to the rest of the world. We started conversing over coffee and cocoa and started building a business plan on how we could get the fishes and other seafood products out of Indonesia and onto the plates of health, income and, environmentally conscious consumers. By then end of our first meeting we knew two important things: first, seafood taste much better in Indonesia than many other parts of the world, and second, we had to find a way for others to enjoy the seafood Indonesia could provide.

We would eventually start working on building our foundation and seeking out answers: who are our consumers? How do we plan to reach out to these consumers? Where are these consumers? What are the habits of these consumers? And when could we realistically get our business up and sailing? Like the skeiư of old, we started building the business piece by piece. I started writing up documents on policies and procedures. We got together with lawyers and hammered out contracts and forms. There were days were we received very little sleep. We wanted to make sure our business would not fall prey to any waves of the sea and tossed around in the wind. These procedures, documents, and forms have protected us and our clients.

We then started networking and connecting to suppliers in Indonesia, at first, then realized the prices of these sea products were cheaper in other countries. As we started to cast our net further and further out from Indonesia, we started to become fisher of men. We gathered talent from other parts of the world so people could feel confident in speaking in their own language. We found suppliers that were honest in their dealings and safeguard confidential information as we had been throughout this process. As our network grew, so did our company.

Finally, we needed to get the right clients. One of the hardest aspect of this business is finding buyers who are ready, willing, and able to purchase our goods. This part of the business proved to be more difficult than originally thought. There were many entities who were stating they wanted to get our goods, but needed “proof.” We quickly learned in this sea of importing and exporting, there are many sharks. We had to figure out the best way to take this opportunity and make it into a strength. We have been able to sieve through the deceit and find the honest buyers.

Though our journey just started a little over a year ago, we have grown into a company with a vast network, we have kept honest in our dealings, and we will continue to sail the seven seas for our clients.
